Woodcraft Folk Group Survey
As part of our ongoing evaluation of the TREE programme, we are inviting Woodcraft Folk Groups to participate in our group survey. Postal copies of the survey were sent out to each group leader on 22nd January by Woodcraft Folk HQ with a request that they are completed and posted back (using a freepost address) by the end of February. You can download a copy of the survey to fill in either on screen or by printing it off here.
However, if you would prefer to complete the survey online then please click here to go to the start of the questions.
We will use the information we get from your survey responses to help us in our work with the TREE team. TREE's aim is to give young people in Woodcraft Folk even more opportunities to have their say and get involved in the organisation, and to support adult volunteers who work with them. Hearing the group's experiences of Woodcraft Folk so far will be extremely helpful for them in developing the TREE project.
We hope that groups might be able to use the survey as a group activity and involve as many young people as possible in answering the questions. There is a section (Question 29 onwards) which is designed to be completed mainly by the adult group leaders: for the rest of the questions we are really keen to hear the view of your young people themselves.
By way of a thank you the TREE team are offering the first 15 groups to return their survey by February 28th will a Woodcraft Folk flag!
They have also made the following suggestions about how to complete the survey:
- If the group can't reach a consensus on a question, feel free to add a variety of opinions.
- If you don't have examples of certain activities or practices and have to say ‘no' to lots of questions, don't worry - the purpose of the survey is to get a view of the big picture in Woodcraft Folk, not to evaluate what you do or compare it with other groups. Focus on the questions where your group feels it has something to say and if you're struggling, skip the questions the group feels are less relevant.
- Build in refreshment breaks and some energetic exercise, or even ask people to vote with their feet on the ‘yes / no / don't know' questions.
The TREE team will publish a summary of the results, without identifying individual groups, on www.woodcraft.org.uk, and in Woodcraft World.
If you'd like to receive a full copy of the results, please fill in the contact details of the young person or adult leading the activity and we'll send them to you as soon as they're available.
