Karl co-authored a paper on sport's role in society, while a Visiting Research Fellow at ippr. He also featured in Whitehall and Westminter World discussing how Gordon Brown should deal with sport in the run up to 2012, which caught the interest of The Home Office's Respect Unit and Treasury.

Cadence have worked on a number of PPG17 Open Space studies with Associates from Leisure and the Environment and a review of Fields in Trust's (formerly the NPFA) 6 Acre Standard.

Cadence have also developed a Creative Industries strategy with CIDS.
