Online video survey - what's happening?

13 May 2010 by Karl Hallam

People all around the world are watching our clips of young people and answering questions about what they saw and felt. The clips and survey are available at.

Thanks to everyone who has looked and passed it on via social networks, email or even word of mouth!

There are 4 versions of the clip and when you visit the site you only see one, randomly selected. Our analysis will look at whether the 4 different views illicit different responses in observers and so we don't want to say too much about the different views yet.

We want to get as many people as possible to watch the video and do the survey and then pass it on. The results of the analysis will be published in the Autumn, with the other parts of the research.

I really love the ferutaes in MS Flight Simulator. The realism is terrific. But there is so much more potential.I believe that it's a real shame that some studio has not yet created a good looking, hi-tech, space combat add-on, for pilots not for button pressers. We are in space now and I bet we will be in space, in large numbers, within a generation Today's kids understand. In fact, surveys have shown that the younger crowd is better than the older crowd in using a joystick to drive a car. Flying will likely be second nature to most youngsters as they grow up. Flying a capital ship is not anything like piloting and maneuvering in 3D,,,, in a combat ship, or any small, fast ship. If it turns out that there really are extra-terrestrial aliens, you can bet there will be fights, maybe outright war. (Forbid)The point is to make a game add-on that is build with and uses, present technology not some out-dated looking, low resolution ships and GUI. Flying is not anything like driving a vehicle, as much as, flying in space is similar to combat flight in air. For instance: Mining: to mine, you gotta maneuver close as only a pilot can do. And Docking: Just as much as one can practice landing in an airplane, one could practice landing at launch/docking-bays and mating with small stations and/or landing on larger asteroids and facilities. But producers seem to just have no interest in GOOD space games they are so sight-limited look what was done with Star Trek Online. Gamers want GOOD games, just the thing producers are afraid to finance.Gamers will buy a good game but will not spend a buck on a chump game like STO turned out to be (selling for less than ten bucks and occasionally for two bucks (not worth the shipping).. Because they scammed us, we will not buy any game associated with Cryptic Studios.Give us a nice space flight add-on for FlightSim, maybe an add-on that can be modded,,,, please.Thank you,This is my commentbob
