The pictures of the queues of people outside Northern Rock branches make good examples of how the nature of the urban environment can influence the quality of all kinds of everyday experiences. Where the branches are in pedestrianised shopping areas it looks fun - people are chatting and sharing trips to the coffee shop. Where the queues are next to roads the queues tend to be a little more subdued it all looks like more of a crisis.
Cadence are not suggesting that banking crisises have a positive impact on quality of life, but where they bring people together in a quality urban environment it is not altogether unpleasant. Cadence do not bank with Northern Rock.
