Millions for cycling and play

12 Dec 2007 by Karl Hallam

A good week for some of Cadence's cleints and areas of interest this week with millions going into play and cycle routes. Sustrans won the 'peoples millions', meaning 79 connect2 projects will go ahead across the country and Ed Balls announced £225 million to be spent on play areas.

Balls also announced £160 for youth provision too, which is good news for another of our clients, Clubs for Young People. Cadence looks forward to playing a part in the implementation of these 3 exciting developments.

Steep hills and lack of infrastructure, and a piocly of not clearing bike lanes in winter hamper Stuttgart's efforts. As well as obesity, I wonder what the Asthma levels are like in these cities?I know it's not all hills though: I went through Dfcsseldorf on the Bakfiets last year and it's flat as a pancake but not very bike friendly.
